SENS Research Foundation (SRF) is hiring a Marketing and Communications Manager (“MarCom Manager”) for our foundation located in Mountain View, California. SRF is an exciting, cutting-edge nonprofit dedicated to transforming the way the world researches and treats age-related disease. Learn more about us at www.sens.org.

The Marketing and Communications Manager will be responsible for the development of all marketing and communications strategies for the company and overseeing all operations involving media and public relations. The MarCom Manager will devise marketing strategies and programs to improve brand awareness, handle external communications, and craft communication strategies for the promotion of our work, brand, and mission. They will also create promotional materials, digital content, and more.

The Marketing & Communications Manager will report to the Chief Executive Officer. This position is full-time during normal business hours (M-F 9 am – 5 pm PST). This position can be remote or in-person at our Research Center in Mountain View, California.

The salary range for this position is $90,000 – $135,000/year and is commensurate with experience.

Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field, and a minimum of five years of demonstrated experience in marketing and communications, preferably for a nonprofit organization. Other qualifications include:

  • Ability to adapt and thrive in a rapidly changing field and workplace.
  • Must be fluent in English.
  • 3-5 years of proven experience working with social media, media relations, public relations, digital strategy, advertising, and SEO.
  • Solid understanding of all social media platforms, including Discord, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, Clubhouse, etc., and the ability to effectively use each platform to reach target audiences.
  • Understanding and appreciation of marketing best practices.
  • Proficiency with Photoshop, video editing, and website development/management.
  • Proficiency with event organizing platforms (Eventbrite, Cvent, RSVPfy, etc.).
  • Expert in marketing analytics and analytical tools (Google Analytics, etc.).
  • Possess a data-driven approach to marketing campaigns and projects.
  • The ability to create comprehensive metrics reports and utilize the data to continuously refine and optimize the Foundation’s marketing and communication strategies.
  • Knowledge of WordPress and Elementor preferred.
  • Experience in journalism, filmmaking, graphic design, and video content creation highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of the Rejuvenation Biotechnology field and advocacy to the longevity community preferred, but not required.
  • Passion for SRF’s mission.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy, calendar, and content that aligns with the foundation’s mission and goals to grow our social media channels.
  • Consistently represent SRF’s brand across all social media channels.
  • Analyze social media metrics and respond to comments/messages on our social media platform in a professional and positive manner that reflects SRF’s values.
  • Stay current on the latest social media trends, algorithms, and best practices to quickly adapt to changes in the social media landscape.
  • Create engaging and educational content that resonates with target audiences.
  • Create engaging new content for SRF’s website.
  • Gather content for and create SRF’s monthly external newsletter.
  • Create or lead the creation of the foundation’s annual reports.
  • Develop and implement marketing and communication plans to promote SRF’s mission, vision, and events.
  • Create press kits and brand/style guides for all public relations, marketing, and advertising for SRF.
  • Communicate and negotiate with media outlets and journalists.
  • Develop materials and training to educate all of SRF’s team members on the best external communication practices.
  • Create press releases and help create presentations for team members representing SRF at conferences and other events.
  • Use metrics to make informed decisions and measure the success of marketing campaigns. Prepare reports on the results of campaigns for senior management, including identifying areas for improvement.
  • Work closely with other departments, including the Development Department, Research Department, and Education Department, to support each department in their goals.
  • May require travel to conferences and our Research Center in Mountain View, California (approx. 1 week per quarter).
