Thank Yous

Thank you to the Bay Area Aging Meeting (BAAM) for having our staff and students attend! It was exciting to see the ongoing research conducted at local research institutions in the field of age-related diseases.

Thank you to Dr. Amutha Boominathan for her seminar talk! Thank you so much for your time and for sharing your ongoing research progress from the MitoSENS team.

Thank you to the University of the Cumberlands and the University of Alabama for allowing us to participate at your virtual career fairs! It was great to connect with the students and look forward to your applications!

At Bay Area Aging Meeting (BAAM), we were thrilled to sponsor poster awards given to Francesco Neri of the Buck Institute for Research on Aging for his poster titled “A Fully Automated Senescence Test (FAST) for the high-throughput quantification of senescence-associated markers” and to Sneha Rao of the University of California, San Francisco, for her poster titled “Impact of advanced maternal age on signaling dynamics during pre-implantation embryo development.” Congrats to Francesco and Sneha and the rest of the BAAM presenters!

We are happy to welcome aboard Michael Qiu to our 2024 Graduate Internship program! Michael is an M.S. student at the University of Miami and will be a part of Dr. Amit Sharma’s lab on the ApoptoSENS Team.

Ongoing Programs

The Sponsor a Student campaign is still ongoing! Please encourage people to sponsor our brilliant students and increase our reach. We love connecting students to labs to fuel the mission to end age related disease, but we also love transforming the lives and careers of young people. The investment in these students will ensure that the brightest minds, the best scientists, and the most influential leaders know that aging is not an absolute – we can combat aging and live healthier for longer!

Perks include:

– A designated student sponsorship is named in your honor for the 2024 summer or 2023-2024 school year.

– Two tickets to SRF’s annual scientific conference, Ending Aging Forum.

– Postbaccalaureate sponsors will receive virtual invites to the sponsored student’s final presentation.

– Your name is displayed on a plaque in our Research Center.
