#GivingTuesday is November 29, 2016
Meet the Challenge. Help SRF Find Cures.
After two days for getting deals - Black Friday and Cyber Monday - #GivingTuesday is an international day for giving back. It is celebrated on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving (in the U.S.); this year it falls on November 29, 2016. The #GivingTuesday movement is the result of the collective power of a unique blend of partners - nonprofits large and small; businesses and corporations; schools and universities; civic campaigns in cities, states and regions; and families and individuals - to inspire people to take collaborative action to improve their communities and contribute in countless ways to the causes they believe in.
SENS Research Foundation is grateful to each and every one of you for supporting our ongoing work to find cures for age-related disease. In 2015 your #GivingTuesday contributions brought in $74,634 - help us beat this number in 2016! This is a great opportunity for you to make a tax-deductible donation before the end of this year; every donation counts. Visit SRF's Donate page to contribute, and go to the #GivingTuesday website for more information about the movement.
2016 Winter Fundraiser & Patrons Challenge Update
SENS Research Foundation would like to thank all of you who have contributed to our Winter 2016 fundraiser, with a total of $40,889 so far toward the $150k goal! We know you care as deeply as we do about creating the means to preserve and restore health regardless of age, as well as helping reduce the terrible toll in human suffering caused worldwide by diseases like Alzheimer's, heart disease, and cancer. Please donate today - cures for the diseases of aging won't happen without you. Every dollar given will be matched by a generous grant from the Forever Healthy Foundation.
Now is also a good time to become an SRF Patron because your donation will be doubled - and it will be doubled all year long! Every month, your $100 will turn into $200, so give today. We are delighted to announce that your commitment as a Patron can do even more good, thanks to a new pledge from Christophe and Dominique Cornjuelos to match $1000 a month in new monthly commitments, joining Reason (Fight Aging!) and Josh Triplett in supporting this challenge.
Ask Your Employer about Matching Your Donations
Did you know that many companies - including Google, Microsoft, Apple, and others - offer matching gift programs for employee charitable donations? You may be able to double the impact of your contribution through a matching gift, so make sure and ask your employer before making your end-of-year donations.
2016 SRF Summer Scholars Program Videos Online Now
SRF Education is a critical part of SENS Research Foundation's mission to change the way the world researches and treats age-related disease. By encouraging and offering real-life research experience to dedicated, highly motivated undergraduate students, SRF is helping build the next generation of scientists to do the work so desperately needed to create a truly robust rejuvenation biotechnology field.
In 2016, SENS Research Foundation supported twelve students at seven different host institutions in the US and the United Kingdom. This series of videos will offer you a glimpse into the research they conducted and their experiences in the labs at the Buck Institute for Research on Aging, the Harvard Stem Cell Institute, Sanford Burnham Prebys Medical Discovery Institute, Scripps Research Institute, the SRF Research Center, the University of Oxford, and the Wake Forest Institute for Regenerative Medicine.
