SRF gears up for #GivingTuesday - Help us make it our best yet

SENS Research Foundation is getting ready to celebrate #GivingTuesday on December 1st. #GivingTuesday is now a global event celebrated by supporters of various charities giving to their favorite causes. If you've been planning on contributing to the fight against age-related disease this year, #GivingTuesday is a great opportunity to make a difference.

So far, SENS Research Foundation has 3 matching grants set up for #GivingTuesday. The first is our FightAging! Challenge which will match every dollar you give us up to $125,000. On #GivingTuesday, the first $5000 we raise will not be doubled or even tripled – it will be quadrupled thanks to the generousity of the Croeni Foundation and Aubrey de Grey.

Help us turn $5000 into $20,000 and accelerate the fight against age-related diseases! Donate at www.sens.org/donate on December 1st.

If anyone else would like to offer an additional multiplier grant for #GivingTuesday, just email jerri.barrett@sens.org.
FightAging.org $125,000 Challenge Grant: We're Halfway There!

Thank you to everyone who has donated so far to support SENS Research Foundation's year-end challenge grant from FightAging.org. We are delighted to announce that 5.5 weeks into the campaign,we are already 51% of the way to the $125,000 challenge amount with $63,710.93!

Remember, Fight Aging! will match up to $125,000 in donations from you, our supporters -- meaning SRF will get $250,000 to apply to the fight against the root cause of age-related disease if we are successful in the remaining 8 weeks of the campaign.

Please help us reach our $125,000 goal by donating generously today! Remember, our greatest asset in the effort to cure age-related disease is you and your support. Also remember that the holidays are coming up -- consider putting an SRF donation on your wish list, making a donation in honor of a family member or friend, and using Amazon Smile when doing your holiday shopping.

SENS Research Foundation Raises More Than $45,000 For Research Aimed at Slowing Down the Aging Process

Funding Campaign Achieves 154% of Goal, Allowing Biologists to Double the Pace of Research on Restoring Lost Mitochondrial Function and Preventing Age-related Damage

SRF is pleased to announce that its recent MitoSENS Mitochondrial Repair Project fundraising campaign raised $46,128, achieving 154 percent of its goal. The funds, generated through the longevity research focused crowdfunding platform Lifespan.io, will accelerate the project’s research efforts toward restoring lost mitochondrial function and preventing age-related damage.

SRF is in the early stages of creating an innovative system to repair mitochondrial mutations that occur in the body over time. Organisms which age more slowly consistently display lower rates of mitochondrial free radical damage. Reversing and/or preventing damage to mitochondrial DNA may therefore be a key factor in slowing the aging process.

“Successfully completing this project will mean that we have developed a groundbreaking method that will provide us with the capability to safeguard the mitochondrial genome,” said Matthew O’Connor, lead researcher for the project. “Our talented team of highly trained mitochondrial biologists has preliminary progress, but we have critical work yet to be done. Increasing our funding with this campaign will allow us to double the pace of our research and bring results to the public that much faster.”

“We are thrilled to have exceeded our goal for this campaign, and so grateful to everyone who donated at all levels,” said Jerri Barrett, vice president of outreach for SENS Research Foundation. “This is a great start to the fall giving season and we look forward to more fundraising efforts to support our mission of transforming the way the world researches and treats age-related diseases.”
