Open Science Summit 2010
From July 29-31 at Berkeley's I-House, longtime longevity advocate Joseph Jackson is hosting the Open Science Summit. This is the first conference to bring together the many entities working to transform the institutions and practices that comprise or science + innovation system. Much more information is available in his recent interview with h+ magazine.
In Jackson's words, "I've made it my life's quest to bring together the advocates of open science to transform our paradigm. If we don't do this, we can throw all the $$ in the world into anti-aging efforts and it simply won't pay off in time. Only by embracing open science (meaning radically more efficient structures for data sharing, novel funding mechanisms, collaborative R&D models... and many more topics covered at the conference) can we reach longevity escape velocity on any timeline that benefits people alive today."
