Welcome, Kelsey and Anne.
This post is part of the project:
The SENS Foundation Research Center would like to welcome Anne Corwin and Kelsey Moody to our growing team.
Kelsey Moody, SENS Foundation's Academic Coordinator, is here completing a two-week internship at the RC. He is working under Lorenzo Albanello to expand his knowledge of laboratory methods and is gaining experience useful to a larger project he is undertaking at his home university of SUNY Plattsburgh. Kelsey's collective efforts contribute to SENS Foundation's LysoSENS research on macular degeneration, and the chimeric enzymes he seeks to produce may increase the effectiveness of current A2E degrading enzymes.
Anne Corwin is an electrical engineer with a long-time interest in biotech and regenerative medicine. She has been following the SENS project for a number of years and is very pleased to have an on-going volunteer opportunity to assist with our research. In addition to working in the lab twice a week, Anne's background may be particularly useful for a follow-up project to the original senescent T-cell scrubber completed last year, a project proposal currently being reviewed by the Research Development Committee.
Kelsey and Anne have already assisted with gel preparation, cell culturing and subcloning. We look forward to seeing what else they can do!
We encourage anyone interested in volunteer or internship opportunities to review the information at "Work for the RC" before contacting us.
