Introduction: Coexistence between man and livestock has a very long history. This contact had led to the cause of more than 150 disease common between man and animals. Of such disease, plaque, anthrax. brucellosis and mad cow disease are highly life threatening and cause severe epidemies. considering the climatic conditions of mazandaran province, a research as designed and performed in order to delermin the hyginic conditions of cattle dairy farms during 2001-2002.

Materials and methods: This was cross sectional study, was done by surveying of 85 dairy farms mazandaran, statistically, existing. The quantitative variable such as, the distance between the farm to the residential areas, spale of farm, number of cattle etc. Were clarified by near observation of the places.

Results: The total number of the farms was 85 one of them was excluded from this study due to keeping high number of cattle and need to much work. 67(79.8%) farms were located on hill areas, and 17 (20.2 %) on low land areas. 54 ( 64.3 %) were located on residented areas and 30 (35.7 %) on farther distance that is 1000 meters. The average number of cattle for maximum was 220 for minimum was 6. Number of cattles in the form was 32, in the hill site 29 and lowland areas 42, the space for each cattles was 5-6 square meters. 65% of the forms do not have unsuitable conditions for living of cattles. The unsuitable ratio on the hill site was 61.6 % and for the low land 41%, the difference between these two areas is significant ( P

Discussion : Due to unhygienic conditions of the farms and lack of needed supervision, dairy farms are not profitable. 600 peration between the ministries of agriclture and hygienic conditions of dairy farms is needed.
